Privacy Policy
Overview
Truefan is a privacy-first application that helps you find where your favorite NFL team is playing. Your data stays on your device — we don't collect, store, or track you.
How We Handle Your Data
Your Preferences
Your favorite teams and zip code are stored locally on your device using your browser's IndexedDB. We never have access to this data. It stays on your device, syncs across your browser tabs, and is deleted when you clear your browser storage.
Game Data
We fetch NFL schedules from ESPN's public API. No personal data is sent — only season and week number. ESPN's privacy policy applies to their service.
Zip Code & DMA Lookup
During setup, you provide your zip code to determine your media market (DMA). This zip code is used locally to calculate your DMA but is never sent anywhere. It's stored on your device for convenience, and you can delete it anytime from Settings.
What We Don't Do
- ❌ No user accounts or authentication
- ❌ No tracking or analytics
- ❌ No cookies or identification tracking
- ❌ No ads or advertising
- ❌ No data sent to third parties (except ESPN for schedules)
- ❌ No profiling or behavioral analysis
External Services
- ESPN API: Fetches NFL schedules using only season/week (no personal data)
- Ko-Fi: If you click the tip link, you'll visit Ko-Fi's website
Your Control
You have complete control over your data. Your preferences are stored only on your device. You can delete your zip code, reset your favorite teams, or clear all data anytime from Settings. Closing your browser doesn't affect your data — it persists until you delete it.
